Man arrested after reported attempted robbery in Bournemouth

Police are investigating a reported attempted robbery in Bournemouth, where a man was allegedly threatened with a knife.
The incident took place at around 9am on Sunday 11th January 2026 on Hinton Road.
According to police, it was reported that the man was approached by a group of men who were not known to him, who demanded cash.
One of them allegedly punched the victim and threatened him with a knife.
No serious injuries were reported and and no cash was taken.
A 19-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following enquiries.
He has been released on bail while investigations continue.
Detective Constable Chelsie Reilly, from Bournemouth CID, said:
“This must have been a terrifying ordeal for the victim and we have been exploring all lines of enquiry to identify those involved.
“I am keen to hear from any witnesses, as well as anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area on the morning of Sunday 11th January 2026.”
