Man, 60s, seriously injured after incident near traffic lights in Weymouth
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and information
A man in his 60s has been left seriously injured following a confrontation near traffic lights on Rodwell Road, Weymouth.
The incident occurred at around 8:30pm on 4th May 2026, near the junction with Westwey Road.
The man reportedly approached a black BMW 116D Sport, engaging in a verbal argument with the driver.
His arm became caught inside the vehicle, leading to him being dragged several metres along the road.
The vehicle subsequently drove off, leaving the man with serious injuries.
Police Constable Sonny Scadden from the Weymouth police is overseeing the investigation and is seeking witnesses who might provide additional insights into the event.
PC Scadden said, “We are carrying out detailed enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.”
He also urged motorists who were in the area at the time to check their dashcam footage.
