Large heathland fire in Poole

A large fire has broken out in Poole.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service says it received the first of 60 ‘999’ calls at 3.07pm today (6 July) for a fire at Bourne Valley nature reserve in Poole, affecting approx. 200m x 100m of heathland.

It has crews on scene or en route from various places, including Redhill Park, Westbourne, Poole, Wimborne and Christchurch.

Around 50 firefighters are either on the scene or on their way.
