A man has been arrested after another was taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds in Poole.

A man in his 20s was found seriously injured in High Street in the early hours of Tuesday morning (23rd September).

A police cordon was put in place at the time of the incident.

A 42-year-old man, who is believed to know the victim, has now been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He's due at Poole Magistrates court on Thursday (25th September).

A Dorset police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police received a report at 2.58am on Tuesday 23 September 2025 that a man had sustained suspected stab wounds to his arm in High Street.

"Emergency services attended and a police cordon was put in place at the scene.

"The man – aged in his 20s – was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries believed to be serious."
