JPMorgan Chase has announced plans to invest between £300 and £350 million to expand and modernise its Bournemouth campus, one of the US bank’s largest sites outside America.

The site currently employs around 5,300 people, and the investment will deliver new buildings, upgraded facilities and more green spaces as the bank looks to create a modern financial technology hub on the south coast.

As part of the plans, JPMorgan will also invest £3.5 million over five years to support charities and community projects helping young people across the South West develop career skills and access new opportunities.

The bank says the expansion reflects its long-term commitment to Bournemouth, where it has had a base for more than 40 years.

The proposals will now go through the local planning process before work can begin.
