Firefighters are tackling a blaze at an industrial warehouse in Poole.

Dorset fire service were called to West Quay Road in Poole at 11.20am for a fire involving an industrial warehouse.

The building was described as being "well alight" and residents were urged by the fire service to keep all windows and doors closed due to the large amount of smoke from the incident.

Initially 35 firefighters were tacking the fire but in an update issued at 2:30pm today Dorset fire service said the incident had now been "scaled back to five appliances, a water carrier and an aerial ladder platform."

They added that some of the surrounding roads are closed and there is traffic so drivers should continue to avoid the area until further notice.

At 4pm the fire service said that two crews remained at the scene to dampen down.
