Fire crew called to Wareham Forest in 'busy day' of incidents

It has been a busy week for crews at Swanage Fire Station - after a blaze which tore through woodland.
Their Tuesday started in the early hours of the morning, after reports of an incident in Wareham, in which crews from across the region attended - including from Swanage, who were there to provide relief.
It's reported that the message to 'stop' tackling the fire came in at around sunrise, just after 5am.

Sharing details of the multiple call outs on Tuesday (3 June), fire crews said: "It’s certainly been one of those days today and a busy one for the station.
"At 03:20 one pump was sent to Wareham Fire Station for several hours while they and other stations attended a large woodland fire at Wareham Forest.
"09:27 Our Land Rover was requested to attended the fire at Wareham Forest for relief duties.
"10:26 One pump was sent to assist the ambulance to gain entry to a property in Swanage. On the way back they helped to give casualty care a person that had fallen in the street with minor injuries.
"15:06 One pump along with appliance from Wareham and Poole attended an incident at Ridge.
"Tuesday evening is our drill night and as both pumps were making our way to a local garage for an RTC drill, they were diverted to a property fire in Swanage.
"Luckily this turned out to be just a bit of burnt cooking and the residents and property were fine. We then made our way to the RTC exercise and spent the evening refreshing and honing our extraction skills.
"All personnel now back home for a hard earned rest!"
