Film and TV productions boost Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole economy
Recent filming attracts major projects and supports local businesses
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole have recently become popular choices for major film and television projects, with the local area's varied landscapes and historic sites attracting filmmakers and producers.
Productions have utilised various locations across the region, including Lake Pier in Hamworthy, Southbourne, and Highcliffe Castle.
The economic impact of these filming activities is significant, contributing an estimated £225,125 to the local economy through spending on accommodation, catering, transport, and additional services.
Cllr Rich Herrett from the BCP Council commented on the appeal of the area for film and TV projects, praising its sandy beaches, stunning coastline, and historic buildings. He noted that filming has already begun to draw people to the area and anticipates a rise in visitors as audiences seek out sites featured in productions.
Cllr Andy Martin highlighted the benefits brought by hosting world-class productions, including boosting the local economy and raising the profile of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole on a global scale.
The BCP Film Office is actively supporting productions of all sizes by offering guidance, location advice, and production support to facilitate filming in the area.
