Family pay tribute to "beloved" son, 17, who died after Bridport collision

The family of a 17-year-old boy who died after a collision in Bridport have paid tribute to him.
The collision happened at around 12.03am on 7th July 2026, and involved a white Mercedes-Benz A200 and a silver and blue Yamaha motorbike on the A35 Sea Road South.
The rider of the motorbike, Blayze Martin, from Piddlehinton, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but, passed away on the afternoon of 9th July 2026.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a man in his 30s from West Dorset, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
Following the incident he was treated in hospital for injuries not believed to be serious.
In a statement issued through Dorset Police Blayze's family said: "Blayze was a beloved son to Hayley and Paul, stepson to Michael, brother to four younger siblings – two sisters and two brothers – boyfriend to Brooke and he was also a grandson and nephew.
“He was a keen motorcyclist and had loved motorbikes since the age of two.
“He had a large group of friends.
“Blayze was able to donate his organs to help up to five other people live.”
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
