Elderly woman has bag stolen in Christchurch Poundland

Her bank card was later used fraudulently at a petrol station ATM

Police are looking to identify this man in connection with the theft

An elderly woman's had her handbag stolen in Christchurch, before her bank card was used fraudulently.

£300 in cash was withdrawn from the victim's account at the BP garage in Somerford Road, after the theft at Poundland in the High Street.

The bag also contained a wallet with a small amount of money inside.

The incident happened between 4.00 and 5.00pm on December 3rd.

The details are just being released now, along with some CCTV pictures of a man officers are looking to identify.

PC Jack Honnywill, of Dorset Police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this theft and we are now in a position to release CCTV images of a man we are looking to identify as part of our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
