Dorset County Hospital raise funds for their Emergency Department
More than one million pounds has been raised.
Dorset County Hospital Charity has raised £1.1million for its Emergency and Critical Care Appeal.
The funds will enhance the new Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit, now under construction, with specialist equipment.
Head of DCH Charity, Simon Pearson hopes to reach a £2.5million target to support vital extras beyond the NHS budget.
He said: "There's increasing number of young people who have mental health support needs and we don't have that bespoke type of facility, so it will be a real advancement and very important to help people be able to get through a difficult time.
"Some of the facilities we're looking to fund include relative overnight accommodation for critical care and a rest room for staff to decompress."
