Dashcam appeal after Upton collision involving red Vauxhall Corsa
Police seek witnesses after incident at Upton Gateway Roundabout
A collision involving a red Vauxhall Corsa took place at the Upton Gateway Roundabout, Upton, on the A35 at approximately 6.25pm on 5th July.
The driver of the Corsa, a woman in her 50s, along with her child passenger, were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. Neither is believed to have sustained serious injuries.
A Volkswagen Golf, reportedly black in colour, did not stop at the scene of the collision according to reports.
Police Constable Kier Dagnall from the Roads Policing Team is leading the investigation. "We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would ask any witnesses to come forward if they have not already had contact with the police," Dagnall said.
"I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were in the vicinity and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
"It is believed the vehicle that failed to stop would have sustained damage to its front end during the collision.
"I would also urge anyone who has come across a black Volkswagen Golf or similar vehicle locally that has sustained front-end damage in unexplained circumstances recently to please contact us.
Finally, I would urge the driver of the vehicle involved to please do the right thing and get in touch so we can take your account of what happened."
