A man has been jailed for 40 months after being identified through CCTV enquiries in Poole.

Justin Chappell, 43, of no fixed abode, was sentenced after admitting to two burglary charges and theft.

He also requested consideration for three additional burglary and theft offences he committed.

Chappell's offences included forcing entry into Esso petrol station in Poole, stealing a cashbox with over £4,900, and attempting a burglary in Lytchett Minster.

In both cases, CCTV footage played a key role in identifying him.

Bournemouth Crown Court sentenced him on Friday, 18th September 2026, considering his admissions to multiple offences.

Police Constable Kelly Stronach from Dorset Police’s Neighbourhood Crime Team emphasised the impact of such crimes on communities.

“This case highlights our commitment to pursuing thorough investigations,” Stronach said, crediting the swift identification and arrest of Chappell through CCTV.
