Cash machine theft investigation underway in Verwood

Police appeal for witnesses after theft at Tesco store

Dorset Police are investigating a theft from a cash machine at a Tesco store in Verwood that occurred late on 8th May 2026.

Officers responded to an alarm sounding at the Ringwood Road store around 11.23pm and discovered that an ATM had been broken into, with cash stolen.

A quantity of cash was found nearby afterwards, but the exact amount stolen is currently unknown.

Detective Inspector Rich Barnett, from Dorset County CID, is urging anyone who saw suspicious activity around the time of the theft to come forward.

Barnett said the suspects might have been travelling in a blue or grey BMW.

He encourages individuals with CCTV, doorbell cameras, or dashcams to review their footage for any relevant evidence.
