Car fire in Holton Heath being treated as suspected arson
A Nissan Qashqai was found alight last Thursday night (2nd January)
Police in Holton Heath believe a car damaged in a fire was deliberately set alight.
Emergency services were called at around 11.140pm last Thursday (2nd January) to find the Nissan Qashqai in flames outside an address.
Detectives say two men were seen acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident.
No arrests have been made at this stage, but enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Constable Thomas Pocock, of Dorset Police, said:
“We have liaised with colleagues from the fire service and the current assessment is that this incident was not accidental.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the relevant time to please come forward.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously. They are described as white, with one wearing a light coloured hooded tracksuit with his hood up and lower part of his face covered, and the other wearing darker clothing with a coat, black trousers and black shoes and holding a phone torch.
“Also, I am keen to hear from nearby residents with doorbell or CCTV cameras or motorists with dashcam who were driving in the area and may have captured relevant footage that might assist our investigation.”
