Dorset Police's investigation into a spate of burglaries in Bournemouth has resulted in Peter Levy, a 53-year-old of no fixed address, being sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

Levy appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court on 18th June 2026, admitting to three burglary offences and asking for five additional offences to be considered during sentencing.

The first charge involved an incident on 12th February 2026, when a resident of Clarendon Road awoke to find Levy inside their home.

The defendant fled upon being disturbed.

The following day, entry was gained to a home on Egerton Road, with cash and keys reported stolen.

On 15th February 2026, a doorbell camera alert prompted occupants of a Soberton Road residence to spot Levy trying to enter their home before he fled the scene.

CCTV inquiries by Dorset Police’s Neighbourhood Crime Team led to Levy’s arrest and charges concerning two burglaries and an attempted burglary.

In court, Levy admitted to five additional burglary and theft offences that occurred between 15th February and 23rd February 2026 in Bournemouth, which were considered during sentencing.

Detective Constable Jo Regan of the Neighbourhood Crime Team emphasised the impact of burglary on victims, particularly when crimes occur while they are at home.

"We remain committed to thoroughly investigating all burglary offences reported to us," Regan said, "and as this case demonstrates we will explore all lines of enquiry available to identify offenders and bring them to justice."
