Body of dead dog found dumped in Dorset
The RSPCA are appealing for information from the public to help the investigation.
The body of a starved dog has been found dumped in a remote area of Dorset.
The dog, named Storm, was a three-year-old Pocket bully.
She was found in a remote area between Dorchester and Weymouth on 26th September and brought to a vet by a member of the public, who then contacted the animal welfare charity with concerns.
The RSPCA have launched an appeal for information.
RSPCA Inspector Tina Ward, who is heading the investigation, said the dog was discovered wrapped in a silver curtain and wearing a purple collar.
“The vets called us because, despite decomposition, she was in very poor condition and was emaciated before her death.”
“She was chipped and we have spoken with the person registered as the original owner, who has also shared with us pictures showing how she looked when she was alive in the hope someone will recognise her.”
Storm was rehomed by her original owner, and investigators are now trying to determine what happened to her.
Investigators say the Storm may have lived in Southampton, Winchester, Dorchester or Weymouth.
“She has quite distinctive markings and we hope someone will recognise her and be able to help with our investigation.”
The RSPCA is urging anyone with information to contact their appeals line on 0300 123 8018, quoting incident number 01643845.
