Investigation launched after 16-year-old girl assaulted in Ferndown
Police seek information following assault near Victoria Road bus stop
A 16-year-old girl was assaulted in Ferndown as she sat on a bench by the bus stop near Iceland on Victoria Road.
The incident took place at around 4.20pm on Thursday, 17th September 2026.
The girl was approached by a man who had just got off the number 13 Morebus and began speaking with her.
He reportedly made inappropriate sexual comments before grabbing the victim around the neck.
Another young woman intervened, prompting the man to leave and board the X6 bus.
The man is described as black and approximately five feet ten inches tall, with yellowing whites of his eyes.
He was carrying a beer can and was noted to have a smell of alcohol.
Police Constable Matt Cutler from East Dorset police said, "We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the man involved."
He also urged the young female who assisted the victim to get in touch to provide an account, and called for motorists in the area to review dashcam footage for anything that might aid the investigation.
