Appeal for witnesses after early morning assault on Weymouth Beach
Dorset Police seek information on group attack
Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on Weymouth Beach.
In the early hours of Wednesday 5th August, at around 3am, a man was reportedly attacked by a group of men and women.
The assault resulted in facial injuries, which were believed not to be serious.
The victim and the group were not known to each other prior to the incident.
Descriptions have been provided for three individuals involved: a woman with black hair wearing a black dress and fishnet tights, a man with blond hair in a bun donning a Captain America T-shirt, and another man identified by a black eye.
Police Sergeant Neil Hawkes of Dorset Police has urged anyone with information regarding the assault or the individuals involved to come forward.
"There were other members of the public in the area of the beach and The Esplanade during that time," Hawkes said.
"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened to please contact us."
