Boy shot with air rifle and anti-semitic graffiti painted in suspected Bournemouth hate crimes

Dorset Police have launched an investigation into suspected hate crimes after a boy was shot with an air rifle and anti-semitic graffiti was painted onto a building in Bournemouth.

At around 2.50pm on Saturday (23 August), two people were walking in Manor Road when the driver of a car stopped and made offensive comments toward them.

It is reported that one of the people– a teenage boy– was subsequently shot at with an air weapon and sustained a minor head injury.

Detectives are leading the investigation to locate the occupants of the vehicle and to establish the full circumstances of the incident which is being treated as a hate crime.

Meanwhile, police also received four reportson Saturday afternoon (23 August) of criminal damage in Bournemouth town centre.

It is reported that anti-Semitic graffiti had been painted onto buildings.

A full investigation is underway.

Officers are engaging with the local community and carrying out patrols in the area.

Police are encouraging anyone with information or concerns to speak with an officer.
