AFC Bournemouth has vowed to address concerns regarding alterations to matchday staffing arrangements that did not meet the club's expected standards.

Concerns were raised following the way some long-serving members of the matchday team were informed that their services were no longer required for the 2026-27 season.

The communication, sent from "the safety team" via email, was issued two weeks before the beginning of the season.

In response, AFC Bournemouth stated, "We have reviewed the way these changes were communicated and recognise that it did not reflect the standards we expect of ourselves as a club. People who have given many years of service to AFC Bournemouth deserve to be treated with appreciation and respect."

The club is reaching out directly to those affected to listen to their concerns and examine individual cases.

AFC Bournemouth made significant revisions to matchday roles and working requirements in their preparations for the new season, aiming to enhance the stadium's safety and security.

While these changes are essential, AFC Bournemouth acknowledged the importance of handling communications and treating long-serving members with respect: "We should have handled this better, and we will do better."

The club expressed gratitude towards everyone who has contributed over the years, particularly those who have been involved for decades.

An individual who had been staff for nearly 60 years received an email informing him of role changes. However, he has since been contacted by the club and offered employment in a different position for the upcoming season.
