18-year-old passenger dies in car crash near Wareham

Police seek witnesses and dashcam footage from Morden Road collision

An 18-year-old passenger has died in a single vehicle collision involving a black Volvo V70 in Morden Road near Wareham.

The fatal crash occurred at 8.42pm on 18th February, and the male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been informed.

The driver, a man in his 20s, and another teenage passenger, both suffered serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Police have closed the road to allow emergency services to handle the scene safely.

Police Sergeant Josh Alner from the Roads Policing Team said:

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who very sadly died in this collision.

“We are carrying out a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please get in touch."

He also thanked the public for their patience during the road closure.

Witnesses or those having dashcam footage are urged to contact Dorset Police to assist in the investigation.
