Witness appeal after alleged assault in Westbourne area of Bournemouth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was reportedly assaulted in Bournemouth last Thursday.
The incident took place at around 7pm on 26th February in Poole Road, in the Westbourne, area of the tow.
A man reportedly grabbed a woman by the throat and pushed her to the floor outside the Romanzo restaurant.
Police say the woman did not sustain any serious injuries and the man and woman were known to each other.
Officers attended the scene and a 61-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and intentional strangulation.
He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Investigations Officer Alice Harmsworth, of Bournemouth police, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident outside the restaurant or anyone who may have information in relation to it to please contact us.”
