An On Call crew from Dorchester Fire Station was dispatched to High West Street over the weekend following reports of a dangerous structure.

The crew, along with an aerial ladder platform from Westbourne Fire Station, was mobilised at 12:19 on Saturday (7/3) to safely remove loose material from the building.

During the operation, firefighters discovered a live cable, requiring the electricity company to attend and isolate it.

The Dorchester Fire Station expressed gratitude to the community for their patience and specifically thanked the staff of Kao San Thai Restaurant for providing refreshments to the crew.

The road has reopened, though a section of the pavement remains closed.
