Woodhead Pass to stay closed until at least Friday after moorland fire

We're hearing the Woodhead Pass through the Peak District will stay shut until Friday as emergency services deal with a wildfire.
A car fire spread to moorland meaning the A628 is closed in both directions between the A57 at Hoillingworth and A616 at Flouch.
Officials say it's unrelated to a fire at Tintwistle.
National Highways said: "The Woodhead Pass was closed in both directions on Thurdsay 16 July following a car fire which spread to adjacent Moorlands.
"A multi-agency response involving units from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, National Highways and South Yorkshire Police remains ongoing.
"The A628 will remain closed in both directions until at least Friday 24 July for safety reasons due to this fire and another unrelated fire at Tintwistle.
"Traffic at the scene is being diverted via local routes.
"Traffic travelling from further afield may wish to use alternative trans-pennine routes such as the M1, M62 and M60.
"If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey."
