Two boys - aged 17 and 19 - have been arrested after another teenager was stabbed in a Derbyshire village.

He was attacked when two people entered a house on Muskham Avenue in Cotmanhay at around 8:30pm yesterday (13 Jan).

A man in his 20s also suffered a slash wound to his hand.

Both are thought to make a full physical recovery.

Derbyshire Police said: "The two suspects left the scene in a vehicle that was spotted later in Ilkeston and failed to stop. After a pursuit two people left the car in Pit Lane, Shipley, and ran off. One was detained quickly while the other ran into Shipley Park and, after being tracked by both a National Police Air Service plane and police dogs, was also detained.

"Two teenaged boys aged 17 and 19 have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remain in police custody."

It is understood all the individuals involved are known to each other, with police reassuring locals there is no wider risk to the public.
