Teen arrested after machete reportedly brandished during disturbance in Dronfield

A 16-year-old boy from Sheffield has been arrested following reports of a machete being brandished during a disorder at Gosforth Fields, Dronfield.
Police responded to multiple calls on Friday, 8th May, around 6.30pm concerning a disturbance involving groups of youths in Bubnell Road.
Witnesses reported seeing one of the youths brandishing a machete during the disorder.
Officers arrived at the scene, apprehending the teenager on suspicion of affray, and seized the machete.
Though no injuries from the machete were reported, the arrested youth received treatment from paramedics for facial injuries sustained during the incident.
Authorities are keen to review any recordings from the disorder, appealing to those who filmed the event to come forward.
Polic say the Dronfield Safer Neighbourhood Team will conduct high-visibility patrols over the weekend, providing opportunities for the local community to discuss concerns with officers.
