Police appeal after teenagers sexually assaulted in Heanor park

The incident saw a man seriously sexually assault two teenaged girls in the park.

Officers are appealing for the public’s help after two teenaged girls were seriously sexually assaulted at a Heanor park.

The incident took place between 9pm and 11pm on Friday 31 October on the Lockton Avenue recreation ground.

The incident saw a man seriously sexually assault two teenaged girls in the park.

Both the girls are receiving support from specialist officers along with partner agencies.

The suspect was described by the girls as being white, around 40 years old, 5ft 8ins tall, skinny and a short light ginger beard.

He was wearing a green baseball style cap and a green coat.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident – as well as anyone who may recognise the description of the man.

Also of interest are residents or businesses in the following roads who may have CCTV or doorbell footage from that night:

  • Roper Avenue
  • Lockton Avenue
  • Old Coppice Side
  • Shipley Park Gardens
  • Thorpe Hill Drive
  • Thorpes Road

Over the coming days, officers will be in the area to speak to anyone with concerns.
