Appeal after lead stolen from Chesterfield's iconic 'Crooked Spire' church

Police have launched an appeal after lead was stolen from the roof of Chesterfield's iconic 'Crooked Spire' church.

It happened between the evening of Friday September 26th and the morning of Sunday September 28th.

Derbyshire Police say the theft will cost thousands to repair, and will have 'a significant impact on the church by destroying part of its unique history'.

Anyone with information about the theft is being urged to contact police on 101.
