Arrest made after woman in her 80s killed in Dronfield crash

A woman in her 80s has died and a man has been arrested following a crash in Dronfield earlier this week.

Police were called to reports a pedestrian had been injured in the Sainsbury’s car park on Wreakes Lane at around 1:45pm on Tuesday (June 10).

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the efforts of paramedics to save her.

A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

He has since been bailed as investigations into the circumstances of the crash continue.
