Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash in Chesterfield earlier this week, which left two people seriously injured.

Officers were called to a collision between a car and a motorbike on Newbold Road, near the roundabout junction with Hawksley Avenue and Newland Gardens, at around 8pm on Tuesday.

The rider of the Honda motorbike. a man in his 50s, suffered serious leg injuries, as did his pillion passenger, a woman in her 20s.

The three people inside the other vehicle, a Mini, were uninjured.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has dashcam footage taken at the scene at the time, is being urged to contact Derbyshire Police on 101.
