Woman in 80s hospitalised after being hit by car in Barrow
A man in his 40s has been arrested following the reported collision

A woman in her 80s has been seriously injured following a reported collision in Barrow.
A man in his 40s has since been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Emergency services say they received calls at around 4pm yesterday (10th December) that a woman had been hit by a car on Hindpool Road.
The woman was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed for several hours as investigation work took place.
Cumbria police are urging any witnesses to contact them by calling 101 and quoting log 177 of December 10.
