Officers seek information from festival attendees after tragic incident

Police are appealing for information following the death of a 17-year-old girl at Kendal Calling festival in the early hours of 2nd August 2026.
Emergency services were called to the festival site at 2:13am after reports of the teenager suffering a medical episode.
Despite receiving immediate assistance, including CPR, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her family has been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers, with police expressing condolences during this tragic time.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the girl's death are ongoing.
Officers specifically want to speak to anyone who was near the ‘Calling Out’ tent and the ‘Big Wheel’ at around 2:00am or who may have pertinent information to assist in their investigation.
They are particularly interested in contacting a group of women who alerted first responders about the girl's condition.
