The Windermere ferry will be out of service for up to two weeks next month.

That's so maintenance and upgrade work can take place on its driveline system.

The power system it uses has been running for more than 30 years.

The suspension will start on 23rd February, and services on the Mallard will be suspended for preparatory works on 21st January between 9am and 3pm.

Drivers are being advised to follow the A591 to Ambleside then on to B5286 to Hawkshead when the closure comes into place.
