Seven arrested as police seize cash and drugs in raids across Cumbria
Seven people were arrested in a crackdown involving multiple search warrants
A series of police raids across several locations in Cumbria resulted in seven individuals being arrested and the seizure of more than £35,000 in cash, alongside drugs including over 200 grams of cocaine and more than 300 grams of cannabis.
The raids, which took place on Friday in Appleby, Kendal, Penrith, and Barrow, were carried out under five warrants, with an additional search conducted under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
Bailey Dutton, a 20-year-old from Barrow, has been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply cannabis, and possession of criminal property.
Dutton was remanded to attend Barrow Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, where he was further remanded to attend Preston Crown Court on 29th April.
Other individuals arrested during the raids were either released under investigation or received out-of-court disposals, such as cautions.
Appleby Arrests
In Appleby, the warrant executed on Friday morning led to the arrest of two men.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession of a Class B drug, ketamine.
He received a caution for the possession offence and was released under investigation for the conspiracy offence.
Another man, aged 33, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug, cannabis.
He was cautioned for the offence.
