Residents in Seaton are being invited to share their opinions on the village's library services as part of Cumberland Council's latest engagement exercise.

The informal feedback initiative is part of the Libraries Fit for the Future programme, which aims to ensure library services meet both current and future community needs.

The council hopes to gather insights on how the library is currently used, what aspects are most valued by the community, and what improvements could encourage wider usage.

Participants can express their views through an online survey available on the council's website, a paper survey from the library, or by attending drop-in sessions on 18th and 19th November.

The engagement period will conclude on 30th November, with feedback helping to refine library services, including opening hours, activities, and collaborations with local organisations.

Fifteen hundred people took part in last year's survey, leaving valuable insights for the recently published Strategic Needs Assessment.

Cllr Anne Quilter, Executive member for Vibrant and Healthy Places, encouraged community involvement, emphasising the importance of tailoring library services to the needs of Seaton residents.

"The library service is crucial to our prevention-focused approach. We want to ensure people receive the right support early, confidently, and in ways that work for them," Quilter said.
