Man charged after pedestrian was hit by van in Carlisle

A man has been charged following a collision which left a man seriously injured in Carlisle.

Officers were called out to Prescott Road on Sunday (4th January) to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a van.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital.

He was left in a critical but stable condition.

29-year old Ricky Murphy has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing injury by dangerous driving.

He'll appear before Carlisle Magistrates Court tomorrow (7th January).
