A man has appeared in court following a stop by police on the M6 which led to the discovery of £100,000 in cash.
Officers stopped a vehicle travelling southbound on the M6 neat Southwaite Services yesterday(6th March).
30-year-old Marius Iordache from Bedfordshire was charged with a money laundering offence.
He appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court today (7th March) and was released with bail conditions ahead of a further hearing.
The seizure forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
