Police urge couple with child to come forward after threats with knife in Carlisle
The incident occurred in Raffles Avenue on 3rd December
Police are looking to identify a couple with a young child who may have witnessed an alleged knife threat in Raffles Avenue, Carlisle, on the 3rd of December.
The incident took place between 5.30pm and 6.30pm when a group of two men, a woman, and a girl were talking together.
According to Cumbria Police, a man and woman with a child walked past the group, at which point one of the men from the group reportedly shouted at the couple to "shut up," as the child was crying.
The couple, along with the child, continued walking away. It is alleged that the man who yelled went into his home before coming back out holding a knife and shouting threats in the direction of the couple and the child.
Officers are keen to speak to this couple with the child, as they may have information that could support their investigation.
A 59-year-old man from the local area was arrested on suspicion of threatening a person with a knife and remains in police custody.
