Police investigate Wigton assault

It happened in the early hours of Sunday

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault, which occurred on Sunday (28 Sept) at around 1.20am, outside The Lion & Lamb Pub in High Street, Wigton.

A man was reported to have been punched, suffering facial injuries. The victim was taken to hospital, but released the same morning.

A 20-year-old man was arrested, but has since been released on police bail.

Officers are encouraging anyone who witnessed what occurred to come forward.
