Man arrested following assault of teenage woman in Kendal

Police have arrested a man following an assault on a woman in Kendal.

Officers say the victim, who is in her late teens, was assaulted by the suspension bridge between Mintsfeet and Dockray Industrial Estate at around 6.15pm yesterday (26th January).

A 31-year-old man from Blackpool has been arrested on suspicion of committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence.

Police say the woman was not seriously hurt but has been left shaken by the assault.

Officers would like to reassure the public that this investigation remains a top priority and enquiries remain ongoing.
