Officers search for driver who fled the scene
Police in Carlisle are appealing for information, after an incident yesterday afternoon, 4th January, where a pedestrian was struck by a van, which then fled the scene.
The collision occurred at approximately 2:50 pm on Prescott Road, leaving the victim, a man in his 30s, with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he remains under medical care. An air ambulance also attended the scene to provide assistance.
The vehicle involved in the incident is described as a blue Fiat Scudo van, with the registration number WN57 CLX. Officers believe the driver is a man in his late 20s and are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts or details of the van to come forward.
Residents in the area will notice an increased police presence, as inquiries into the incident continue.
