Police appeal after woman bitten by dog at Whinlatter
The incident happened at around 2.20pm on Thursday 6 November
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was bitten by a dog while out walking at Whinlatter, near Revelin Moss car park, earlier this month.
The incident happened at around 2.20pm on Thursday 6 November 2025, when the victim was attacked by a dog on a woodland trail.
She suffered a serious hand injury which required surgery.
The dog’s owner is described as a woman aged in her 40s or 50s, with blonde hair, and was wearing a long, light-coloured raincoat reaching down to her knees.
She is also believed to have been wearing an orange dog whistle.
The dog itself is described as orange and white, of an unknown breed, and slightly larger than a beagle.
Officers are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may recognise the woman to come forward to assist with the investigation.
