Officers target drug dealing in Allerdale
There was a police operation yesterday
The Allerdale Neighbourhood Policing Team has worked with the local intelligence team, to target drug dealing in the community.
The operation yesterday (April 15) saw officers proactively stop search 12 individuals, with three positive results.
Officers also arrested a 44-year-old man from Workington, on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. He was released under investigation.
Speaking on the operation, Inspector Adrian Dobson said: āWe were able to run this operation thanks to information supplied to us by our communities.
āWe will continue to act where there is intelligence that individuals or groups are involved in drug dealing in their local community. Drugs and drug-related crime are extremely harmful to our communities and operations such as this are crucial to targeting those responsible.
āWe rely on our communities to be our eyes and ears so that we can challenge and act on information relating to drug supply.
āIf you suspect criminality is taking place in your neighbourhood then we want to hear from you so we can take action.ā
