Williamson sacked as Carlisle United boss
He leaves with the club bottom of the football league
Carlisle United's head coach Mike Williamson has been sacked
The leaves with Carlisle sitting at the foot of the football league - five points off safety in League Two.
This follows a 5-1 home defeat to Swindon at the weekend.
Williamson replaced the sacked Paul Simpson in September - leaving his role as boss of MK Dons to join Carlisle United.
But he won just five of his 25 games in charge in all competitions.
A club statement said;
"Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that head coach Mike Williamson has this morning been relieved of his duties and has left the club with immediate effect.
Everyone at the club would like to thank Mike for his efforts during his time at the club.
The club will give a further update in the coming days."
