Man named after fatal car crash near Gretna

The collision happened on the M6 Northbound just before Junction 45 on the 2nd of October

A man who died in a fatal collision on the M6 near Gretna on 2 October has been named as Costica Balan, aged 63, from Spalding in Lincolnshire.

The collision took place on the M6 Northbound just prior to Junction 45, near Gretna, at 6:42am.

Sadly, Mr Balan died at the scene.

Mr Balan was Romanian and had lived in the UK for the past 16 years, working as an HGV driver.

His family said he was a "beloved husband and father who will be dearly missed by everyone".
