Man in court accused of attempted robbery in Penrith
It's alleged to have happened on Wednesday.
A man accused of trying to rob a woman in Penrith earlier this week will have his case heard in front of a judge.
Christopher McKenzie, aged 38, faces one charge following an alleged incident in the town on Wednesday August.
This charge alleges that McKenzie attempted to rob a woman of her bank card and purse.
When he appeared at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court today, McKenzie entered no plea to the allegation.
Magistrates sent his case to the city’s crown court.
McKenzie, whose address was given as HMP Durham, is due to appear at the crown court on 29th September, and in the meantime has been remanded in custody.
