Man charged with using threatening abusive words with intent to stir up racial hatred

A man has been charged with using threatening abusive words with intent to stir up racial hatred, this is following an incident on English Street, Carlisle on Thursday.

25 year-old Brandon Watson, of Milbourne Street, Carlisle is due in magistrates court later.

The offences also relate to incidents reported over the last two months

A 21 and 19-year-old man from Carlisle were also arrested on Thursday on suspicion of using threatening abusive words with intent to stir up racial hatred were released on bail.
