Man charged after Cumbria motorway stop uncovers 30kg of cannabis

A man has been charged, after officers from the Roads Crime Unit stopped his vehicle on the M6 between J41 and J40 yesterday morning (5 August) at around 11:30am.

Officers searched the vehicle and seized over 30kg cannabis.

The seizure forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.

Mohamed Hussain, aged 43, from Passey Road, Birmingham was charged by detectives from Westmorland and Furness CID with possession with intent to supply a class B drug.

He was remanded and is due to appear before South Cumbria Magistrates Court this morning (6 August).
