Man charged with attempted kidnap in Carlisle

Police in Cumbria have confirmed a man has been charged following two incidents in Carlisle, including an attempted kidnap.

The force says the incidents occurred on Botchergate and at the Halston car park on Warwick Road on Wednesday (4 June).

Stuart Sanderson, 57, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and two counts of attempt kidnap – common law.

He is expected o appear at at Carlisle Magistrates later today (6 June).
